“The principle goal of education is to create people who are capable of doing new things, not simply of repeating what other generations have done—people who are creative, inventive and discoverers.”
Welcome All Applicants!
The Admissions Office welcomes all applicants and their families to Las Vegas Day School. Parents of prospective students are requested to call the Admissions Office to arrange for a tour of the campus. Every school has a different mission and purpose, which is only apparent upon visitation. Parents who visit our school will be able to see the interaction between teachers and students, the learning environment, the educational materials, and that our students are happy.
Las Vegas Day School offers students numerous advantages starting first and foremost with a traditional environment with the emphasis on the individual student, study habits, and self-discipline. Stimulating instruction is provided in the basics, as well as in science, social studies, art, technology, Spanish, music, and health/fitness. The school encourages parent involvement and communication, as well as offers a safe and secure school setting in which children can feel comfortable, happy, and enjoy the learning process.
Las Vegas Day School is seeking bright, motivated students who embrace the challenge of an enriching academic environment. All applicants entering grades one through eight must submit a report card reflecting a 3.0 grade point average or higher with no disciplinary concerns. A passing score on the entrance examination is required for placement consideration.
For admissions consideration, all applicants must be age appropriate for their respective grade levels by August 1st. Applicants for Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten are registered on a first come, first enrolled basis. Students applying for Kindergarten through eighth grade are required to take an entrance examination. Las Vegas Day School admits students without regard to race, religion, gender, or national origin.
We suggest that parents think long term when choosing a school. Prospective parents need to know their hopes and dreams for their child and where they see them to be in the future. We believe that Las Vegas Day School students will grow and develop as self-assured, dedicated learners, who will shape the future of our society.
We look forward to sharing our program with you. For more information or to schedule a campus tour please contact Mrs. Judy L. Meese, Admissions Director at JMeese@lvds.com or call 702-362-1180.
